Nitrate and nitrite are reaction products that result, for example, from the application of nitrogenous fertilizers to agricultural land. That part nitrogen not absorbed by plants can pass into groundwater in form nitrate or nitrite. This also lead contamination drinking water via groundwater, with all its negative side effects. In present article an automatic system is presented, which performs independently measurement at a body. For these parameters commercially available test strips used, evaluated automatically. The determination nitrite/nitrate value based on Griess leads color change pads depending concentration analyte. sample applied automated dispenser measured RGB sensor. nitrate/nitrite be determined R/G ratio nomogram. measuring accuracy meets requirements European Drinking Water Directive value. limit detection (LOD) was self-designed sensor LOD = 2.003 mg/l over range 0–50 0.611 0–10 0.013 0–1
